Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Mount Snowdon - DONE!

Liquidblu and fellow BLISSTERS conquer the Three Peaks!

June 2010, Liquidblu Archive on June 2nd, 2010 No Comments

Liquidblu took on the 3 Peaks Challenge last weekend and has had some great support from our clients and friends! This tough challenge was being done in aid of Bliss – for babies born too soon, too small, too sick.

Gaz Nash from Liquidblu, John Daly, John Gregg, Michael Richardson, Hamish Morton, Paul Scully, Graham Moore and Rich Woodhead and driver Rich Jones took on The Three Peaks Challenge last weekend, 4th & 5th of June 2010.  The challenge which involves climbing Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) & Mount Snowdon (Wales) all within 24 hours!

Thanks to some very generous donations we have already raised over £4500 (inc. gift aid) of much needed money for the Bliss charity.  But if you would like to add your support, you can still donate for this cause via our Just Giving page HERE

Bliss was established in 1979 so are just over 30 years old.  In 1979, 1 in every 5 babies born prematurely at about 2 pounds in weight survived.  Now thanks to charities such as Bliss, that figure is 4 out of 5! One in eight babies in the UK is born premature or sick – that’s 82,000 babies every year. Around 20,000 of these babies need intensive care and the figure is rising. Every six minutes, a newborn baby requires urgent specialist care. Every 24 minutes, a newborn baby requires life-saving intensive care. Bliss is the only UK charity that helps care for premature and sick babies. They are dedicated to ensuring that more babies not only survive, but also go on to have the best possible quality of life. They support families, fund cutting-edge research and campaign for improved hospital resources.

The challenge was very tough and everyone from the team put in a great effort to finish in a respectable time of 28 hours. For some, including myself, it was their first time doing such a challenge, but on reflection we deservedly gave ourselves a pat on the back.

Liquidblu would like to express its thanks to everyone who has supported us and the team by donating to the cause, its a great effort by all and no doubt, will go to some very deserving babies very soon.  Liquidblu would also like to make a special thank you to John Daly for organising the event, a lot of effort went into getting the team together and making it happen. Well done and Thank you.
